Towards achieving our mission in ‘Mapping your future’, GSTC provides financial aids for outstanding and deserving students to acquire quality education in GSTC. The campus is working to assist students in making education in GSTC affordable. In doing so, GSTC currently offers a number of financial aids such as follows;
Founded by Land Surveyors Board / Lembaga Jurukur Tanah (LJT) to assist students to pursue higher education in geospatial studies for Certificate in Geomatics or Diploma in Geomatics
a) Requirement
i. Guarantor: monthly income must exceed RM2,000
ii. Parents: monthly income combined must exceed RM1,500
iii. Applicant: must be a GSTC full-time student
b) How to apply
i. Refer to Student Service Centre for the application form
This scheme allows qualified EPF members to withdraw their savings from their account to finance their children’s study. Withdrawals are allowed for local and overseas education. Maximum withdrawals will depend on the amount of funds the parents or the student have in their account, as well as how much the fees are. Members can apply for this scheme every semester (two withdrawal in one academic year), or every academic year (one-time withdrawal in one academic year), or overall module fees.
a) Requirement
i. Malaysians & Non-Malaysians
ii. Below 55 years of age
ii. Have savings in Account 2
iv. Currently pursuing Diploma in Geomatics
b) How to apply
i. Collect KWSP withdrawal form from the IMU cashier on ground floor.
ii. Submit the completed form to IMU cashier for processing (3 working days required).
iii. Submit all supporting documents to KWSP for approval.
iv. If you have any enquiries or problems related to the withdrawal application, please contact the nearest EPF Office or the EPF Customer Service Department
A Statutory Body under the Ministry of Human Resources that is responsible for providing financial assistance in the form of loans to individuals such as school leavers, graduates and others who are interested in pursuing Malaysian Skills Certification (SKM).
a) Requirement for borrower
i. Malaysian Citizen
ii. Had been for SKM training programs for Phase/Level 1 till Phase/Level 3, DKM for Phase/Level 4 and DLKM for Phase/Level 5 and other programs which approved by PTPK
iii. Age limit for borrower is between 15 to 45 years old
iv. Do not receive any finance assistance from other agencies.
v. Fulltime student as the period stated
vi. Family monthly income is not more than RM 5,000.00.
b) Loan Rate
i. The rate for loan is in between RM 2,500 to RM 24,000 depends on the program and training phase which included;
1)Fees.
2)Living allowance is RM 400 per month in the training period.
3)Premium payment is for insurance protection.
4)3% of balance loan will be charge for administration fees yearly.
c) Conditions for Guarantor
i. Malaysian citizen
ii. Monthly income for one guarantor must not less than RM700, aged 21 years old and above and not more than 50 years old when trainee starts training. If the guarantor is mother/father/legal guardians/age condition and income will be excluded
iii. Each guarantor can never guarantee more than two (2) trainees except for mother/father/legal guardian.
iv. Not declared bankruptcy
d) Method for Skills Training Loan
i. Borrowers need a CIMB Berhad Bank account (conventional)
ii. Loan will directly be channelled into account of borrowers through auto pay and study fees payment into account of Training Provider will be done through direct debit.
e) Loan Payment
i. Loan payment will start after six (6) months training ended.
ii. Period of loan payments is in between one (1) to ten (10) years.
iii.Monthly installment is between RM84.69 to RM193.12 based on the total loan which been approved.
f) How to apply
Go straight to the Student Service Center in GSTC for the application form.
